Benefitting the Gary Sinise Foundation with Stars & Stripes 8520B Paver
July 16, 2020, Harrisburg, PA: A LeeBoy 8520B “Stars & Stripes” Commercial Asphalt Paver was delivered to end user, Hoffer Paving at a small yet impactful event. During the presentation, a donation of $25,150.00 was presented to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
The exclusive project aimed to serve our Nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, healthcare professionals, first responders and their families by supporting the Gary Sinise Foundation. Gathered with industry leaders were community first-responders, veterans, healthcare professionals, fire fighters and police. “We wanted to bring together our community heroes,” said Charlie Walsh, EVP of Sales and Marketing for Stephenson Equipment, Inc. “With our donation going to support the Sinise Foundation, we wanted to have this event to not only commemorate the delivery of the paver and the donation, but to give first responders a chance to speak about how this pandemic affects their daily work.”
U.S. Congressman and retired Army National Guard Brigadier, General Scott Perry, received notification of the delivery and wanted to be there in attendance. Perry spoke at the event, “If you know me, you know I love equipment. Usually when you see a paver it is covered in asphalt, this is a great opportunity to see a beautiful clean paver. We appreciate Stephenson’s leadership, the hard work of Hoffer Paving, and the dedication of the Gary Sinise Foundation.”
The first ever “Stars & Stripes” LeeBoy Commercial Asphalt Paver was formally presented to the family owned and operated paving company, Hoffer Paving, headquartered in Annville, PA. Since 2002, Joe Hoffer (Father) and Joey Hoffer (Son) have operated LeeBoy Asphalt Pavers and been a loyal customer to Stephenson Equipment. In their evaluation of purchasing a new paver, the “Stars & Stripes” opportunity was a perfect way to declare their patriotism, pride and respect for those that willingly sacrifice each day to provide our freedom and security.
Linda Hoffer (Wife) spoke proudly at the event and declared their family along with their great employees’ “dedication and hard work have made Hoffer Paving what it is today.” She also added, “We were so honored that Stephenson Equipment offered the LeeBoy Stars & Stripes paver to us. LeeBoy has been our paver of choice for decades.”
Stephenson has been a LeeBoy dealer for nearly 30 years. The two industry leaders combined forces in 2016 to raise $100,000 for the American Cancer Society with their “Pink Paver Project.” Kristi Harris, LeeBoy Director of Marketing was present at the event along with LeeBoy’s Northeast Territory Manager Jim Harkins. Ms. Harris noted, “When Stephenson approached us about this unique endeavor, we proudly said yes.”
