Portable Lighting Solutions was started out of a vision for necessity. As a heavy equipment mechanic for over 38 years, Craig Shellman President/CEO, saw the challenges construction crews face keeping jobsites operational at night. He envisioned a bright, lightweight, easy to deploy, strong light to put up with the rigors of construction. Shellman tried different ideas from a basic bird cage with light bulbs to reflective apparatuses. Then in December 2018 it hit him for a solid design. After 18 months of prototyping and development, PLS was able to come up with the design that’s on the market today.

PLS’s patented unique latch and slide assembly at only 16lbs is what sets it apart. The Quasar 360 is the brightest, lightest, and strongest on the market at the 300-WATT classification. It’s one push to rapidly deploy and another to de-latch the balloon has made it the simplest to set up.

Robotically welded, nickel-plated latch and slide are built with the utmost rust protection for many years of service. The top and bottom assemblies are anodized billet aluminum to ensure strength. This design was made to withstand the outdoor elements. Easy to fabricate mounts for different applications with NO set screws to fail. PLS is the ONLY balloon light manufacture to offer a screw in, consumer replaceable LED bulb.
